However, if you want yours to last for many years to come then it is important that you take care of it properly throughout the year. This includes making sure that you store it away properly when not required during the winter months. Below we offer a number of steps that will help you to maintain your machine properly during the winter months. The more care you take over your machine the more effectively it will work in the future. So ensuring that the grass is cut properly and this will in turn result in it looking good and healthy in the future. Step 1 – Along with draining any fuel (if a petrol lawn mower) from the gas tank make sure that you also drain the oil to be found in the crankcase. Remember after doing this that you dispose of the oil and fuel from them in correct way. Step 2 – Now you must replace the oil that you have removed from the crankcase making sure that it the right grade for your Cub Cadet Lawn Mower. Plus also refill the petrol tank with fuel but this should have been treated with stabilizer as this will stop the fuel from gumming up when it the tank. Then after refilling the petrol tank on your mower let the engine run for several minutes. Doing this will get the fuel and oil running through the lawn mowers system and into the carburettor. Step 3 – Next you have to remove the spark plug and into the cylinder you should pour around an ounce of oil (remember to use the recommended type for your machine). After doing this the spark plug can be replaced but remember to remove the spark plug wire and then crank the mower over slowly as this will help to distribute the oil in the cylinder. After doing this the spark plug wire can be reconnected. Step 4 – It is a good idea throughout the winter months to each month run your Cub Cadet Lawn Mower for around 20 to 30 minutes at full throttle. Doing this will not only help to ensure that the battery remains fully charged but also will get fuel supplied to the carburettor. |
